Frequently asked questions
Is there a free trial before I pay?
Yes. Every new account gets a full 15-day developer trial to run your bot in production and confirm it works for your use case. No credit card required to start. After 15 days, your bot continues on Starter ($4.99/mo) or Pro ($9.99/mo) — or pauses if you don't subscribe. Nothing is deleted for 14 days after a trial ends.
Do I need to know how to code to use getDiscordBot?
Yes. getDiscordBot is purpose-built hosting for developers who write their own Python Discord bot code (using discord.py, nextcord, py-cord, or hikari). We handle the container runtime, 24/7 uptime, and restarts so you don't have to manage a Linux server. We do not provide no-code or pre-made template bots.
What's the difference between Starter and Pro?
Both plans get every feature — multi-file editor, persistent storage, secrets manager, live logs, crash alerts. The only difference is capacity: Starter hosts 1 bot, Pro hosts up to 3 bots simultaneously, with more total storage. Upgrade anytime from the Billing page.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. Cancel from your Billing page at any time. You keep access until the end of the billing cycle you've already paid for. No cancellation fees, no questions asked.
Which Python Discord libraries are supported?
discord.py, nextcord, py-cord, and hikari all work. Add any PyPI package via the Packages panel in the Editor. Python 3.10, 3.11, and 3.12 are supported. Heavy ML stacks (torch, tensorflow) are blocked to protect shared resources.
What happens if my bot crashes?
We automatically restart it — up to 5 times. If it keeps crash-looping, we halt it and email you the last 50 log lines so you can diagnose the issue. Your data in
/data is never affected. Restart or redeploy a fix from the dashboard at any time. Can I store a SQLite database for my economy bot?
Yes. Every bot gets a persistent
/data volume. Point your SQLite connection to /data/yourfile.db — it survives every restart and redeploy. You can also upload and download files from the Storage tab in your bot dashboard.Do you offer refunds?
Monthly subscriptions are generally non-refundable once a billing cycle starts. If you were charged in error, or the service was unavailable for an extended period due to our fault, email admin@getdiscordbot.com within 7 days. Approved refunds process in 5–7 business days. See our full refund policy.
