How it works

From zero to online in 60 seconds

No Linux experience needed. No Dockerfile. No SSH. If you can write Python, you can host a Discord bot here.

STEP 01

Paste your bot code

Open the multi-file Editor tab. Paste your bot.py. Add any PyPI packages to requirements.txt. Add your Discord token in the Secrets tab — never hardcoded.

STEP 02

Click Redeploy

We install your packages, build an isolated Docker container, and launch your bot. Watch the console go green — usually under 60 seconds.

STEP 03

Stay online forever

No idle timeouts. No sleep timers. The gateway stays connected 24/7. If the process crashes, we restart it and email you immediately.

Platform features

Built exclusively for Discord bots

Every feature is designed around the Discord gateway — not bolted onto a generic PaaS.

bot.py
import discord
from discord.ext import commands

bot = commands.Bot(command_prefix="!")

@bot.event
async def on_ready():
print(f"Logged in as {'{'}bot.user{'}'}")

Paste & deploy in seconds

No Dockerfile. No Git push. No CLI. Open the browser editor, paste your bot.py, click Redeploy. Your bot goes from code to online in under 60 seconds. Supports discord.py, nextcord, py-cord, and hikari out of the box.

  • Multi-file project editor with file tree
  • Automatic discord.py install if missing
  • Python 3.10, 3.11, and 3.12 runtimes
  • Deploy history with full build logs

Automatic crash recovery + email alerts

Bots crash. Everyone's bots crash. When yours does, we automatically restart it — up to 5 times. If it keeps looping, we halt it and immediately send you an email with the last log lines so you can fix the bug and redeploy. No silent failures.

  • Auto-restart on crash — no manual action needed
  • Email alert with last 50 log lines attached
  • Live stdout console in your dashboard
  • Download full logs at any time

Persistent storage — SQLite, JSON, any file

Every bot gets a dedicated /data volume. Store SQLite databases, JSON configs, CSV leaderboards — whatever your bot needs. Data persists through every restart, redeploy, and plan change. Zero config. No external database needed.

  • Persistent /data mount on every plan
  • SQLite, JSON, CSV — any flat file works
  • Upload/download files from the dashboard
  • Data never deleted on restart or redeploy

Everything included

Built for bot developers

A control plane for Python Discord bots — not a generic PaaS and not a VPS panel.

Always on

No idle shutdowns. The gateway stays connected so your bot responds to commands around the clock — even at 3am.

Multi-file editor

Browser-based IDE with file tree, syntax highlighting, and Cog support. Edit bot.py, cogs/music.py, and config files in one place.

Crash email alert

Live stdout in the dashboard. Automatic restart. Email with last log lines if your bot crashes — so you know before your server members do.

Isolated sandbox

Each bot runs in its own Docker container with private networking. Your bot's token and data are invisible to everyone — including us.

Secrets manager

Store your Discord token and API keys as encrypted env vars. Access them in code with os.getenv("TOKEN"). Never hardcode credentials.

Starter from $4.99

No contracts. Cancel anytime from your dashboard. Cheaper than a DigitalOcean droplet — with zero sysadmin overhead.

Persistent SQLite storage

Economy bots, levelling systems, server configs — store everything in /data. Data survives every restart and redeploy, guaranteed.

Live console logs

Your bot's stdout in real-time, right in the browser. Download the full log file anytime. No SSH, no journalctl.

Questions

Frequently asked

How do I host a Python Discord bot without a VPS?
With getDiscordBot, there's no server to manage. Sign up, paste your discord.py code in the browser editor, add your token to the Secrets tab, and click Redeploy. Your bot runs in an isolated Docker container on our infrastructure — no Linux, no SSH, no systemd required.
Is there a free trial before I pay?
Yes — every new account gets a full 15-day developer trial to run your bot in production. No credit card required to start. After 15 days, you can subscribe to Starter ($4.99/mo) or Pro ($9.99/mo), or let the bot pause. Nothing is deleted for 14 days after a trial ends.
Do I need to know how to code to use getDiscordBot?
Yes. getDiscordBot is built specifically for developers who write Python Discord bot code (using discord.py, nextcord, py-cord, or hikari). We handle the container runtime, 24/7 uptime, and restarts so you don't have to manage a Linux server. We do not provide no-code or drag-and-drop bot creators.
Does it support discord.py, nextcord, py-cord, and hikari?
Yes to all four. Add them to requirements.txt (or we add discord.py automatically if you forget). You can install any PyPI package. Python 3.10, 3.11, and 3.12 runtimes are available.
What happens if my bot crashes at 2am?
We restart it automatically. If it keeps crashing (5 times in 5 minutes), we halt it and immediately send you an email with the last 50 log lines. Your data in /data is never affected. You can redeploy a fix from any device — including your phone.
Can I store a SQLite database for my economy bot?
Absolutely. Every bot gets a persistent /data mount. Point your SQLite connection to /data/yourfile.db and it will survive every restart and redeploy. You can also upload and download files from the Storage tab in the dashboard.
